The Invention - Revolutionizing Agriculture (2019 - 2021)

After 11 years at The Star, I ventured into agriculture, a seemingly unrelated field but one with an ancient wisdom: "Farmers are the best market predictors." The complexity of their observations surpassed any existing predictive system, making it the perfect ground for my hypothesis. Furthermore, today's AI core fundamental lies in its predictive technology, this is where it gets interesting, if I solved it I could be getting new information on building my first model of Artifical General Intelligence.

Upon joining SD Guthrie formerly Sime Darby Plantation, I learned of an unresolved crisis from the Senior Leaderships: chronic yield losses due to operational inefficiencies. Despite having forecasts, internal conflicts stifled action, and no one dared to disrupt the 200 year old operation pandora’s box.

I designed a system under the guise of an auto-planning tool. In reality, it was an intelligent communication observer, pinpointing misalignments between the plantation ground ops, procurement, and fertilizer suppliers. The primary issue? Simple negligence of communication, fertilizers weren’t being delivered on time, causing immense losses.

The solution introduced an automated fertilizer procurement system, GPS-tracked supply chains, and the capability of dynamically reallocating human resources. Within three months, the MVP was completed and single-handedly delivered, within six months, it was in full-scale production. The impact? A 20-year-old problem was solved. Sime Darby’s renevue soared from $12 billion to $24 billion in 2024
